Dollar Little Changed, Gold Down in Europe

The U.S. dollar was little changed Wednesday morning against other major currencies in European trading. Gold prices fell.

The euro bought $1.2675, down from $1.2677 late Tuesday in New York.

Other dollar rates compared with late rates Tuesday included: 117.40 Japanese yen, down from 117.57; 1.2523 Swiss francs, up from 1.2512, and 1.1288 Canadian dollars, up from 1.1277.

The British pound traded at $1.8826, up from $1.8816.

Gold traded in London at $576.25, down from $578.60 late Tuesday. In Zurich, gold was quoted at $575.45, down from $580.10. Gold fell $8.80 in Hong Kong to $574.80.

Silver traded in London at $10.53 per troy ounce, down from $11.00.
